AChiPPP Conference 2006 Pre-Conference Statement

Pre-conference statement

We are a group of child psychologists in private practice who want to have the same opportunities for contact with peers and CPD relevant to our needs as child psychologists have when working in the public sector. From this AChiPPP was conceived.

Over the next few years we believe many more child psychologists - whether child clinical, educational or paediatric neuropsychologists will be working in independent practices.

AChiPPP is in its infancy. The conference in October will be its first conference. Whether you’re already fully established in independent practice or thinking of taking the first tentative steps towards working independently we hope this conference will have something for you.

Future aims include the establishment of a web presence and regional support groups. All this depends upon the response we receive from you. The conference programme is designed to deal both with some of the business as well as professional issues in setting up independently. We hope you will find them informative and thought provoking. A vital ingredient is what you bring in terms of your views and aspirations.

At the end of the day there will be a discussion about how AChiPPP should develop. We hope you’ll stay to take part.
