The training day will focus upon the work of the Family Court. It is an introductory course and also builds on previous courses AChiPPP has run on Expert Witness Skills.
The day will include:
An introduction to the Children Act 1989
The role of the Psychologist in family proceedings
The ongoing role of the Psychologist following completion of the report
Kirti Patel, solicitor from The Children’s Legal Practice Ltd. Kirti has more than fifteen years experience of family law and has been a member of The Law Society’s Children Panel since 2000. She specialises in all matters relating to children, in particular care proceedings, where she has expertise in representing children via their Guardian or directly if they are competent.
Sarah Palmer, Solicitor, from The Children’s Legal Practice Ltd. Sarah qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and has been a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel since 1993. Sarah has a mixed practice dealing with both Children Act cases and also Education Appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.
Costs are £135 for AChiPPP members and £195 for non-members.
Membership of AChiPPP is £45 giving a £15 discount for those renewing membership. For non-members who meet the membership criteria there is a benefit/ saving in applying for membership.
